2007 JUNETEENTH ART CONTEST AND SHOW
April 23, 2007

The River Road African American Museum and Dezins - Web and Multi-Media Marketing announce an art contest and show for the 2007 Juneteenth Freedom Festival, June 9-10, in Donaldsonville, Louisiana.
Artwork presented for the contest can be of any medium including but not limited to painting, drawing, sculpture and photography. Entry forms are due May 18 and artwork is due June 1. This year's contest will have an adult category and a youth category and is free and open to all ages.
Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in each category. Artwork will be judged based on the following criteria: color, composition, originality and relevancy to the meaning of freedom in the African American experience.
In addition, there will be a two day art show and sale. Artists are invited to display and sell their works with a small percentage of profits being donated to the Juneteenth Festival. Artists who don't wish to offer their work for sale, will be asked to pay a small entry fee that will also be donated to the festival.
